Sandra Leal is professor at CESPU and the Degree Coordinator of Nutritional Sciences. Over the past 20 years, she has been a researcher in several research centers and is currently a member of IINFACTS and CINTESIS. Her main research focus is to better understand eating behavior control, especially the role of the microbiota and how modifiable risk factors affect the link between metabolism, inflammation and neuroendocrine regulation. She is a co-editor of an international scientific journal, has several scientific publications in her area of interest and is reviewer of national and international scientific papers. She participated in national and international research projects and was one of the investigator in the design of the research project IoGeneration – Iodine Status in Portugal.
