Isabel Monteiro da Costa is an Adjunct Professor from the School of Health of the University of Aveiro in Portugal as a Senior Lecturer. In this position she oversaw the curriculum development and implementation of a new training program for Speech Language Therapists (SLT) since 2003. She is the SLT course director coordinated the Department of Communication and Language Sciences from 2003 to 2014 and from 2016 until present date.
Her main research interests are related to the communication and language needs of children with hearing loss in early intervention and their families. She works as a consultant for several central hospitals’ teams of cochlear implantation in Portugal. She was involved in the design of the Curriculum for Speech Language Therapists in Georgia. She works as a reviewer in some congress scientific commissions and she is a founder member of the Scientific Portuguese Society of Speech and Language Therapy. She is a member of organizational and scientific committees of International Congress on Infancy and Adolescence (ICCA).
